Barhi dates are best stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container to maintain moisture. However, you can also freeze them for up to a year. Due to their high sugar content, they don’t actually freeze. You can enjoy them right out of the freezer!
Introduced from Basra, Iraq, in 1913, Barhi dates are petite mahogany jewels that feature a soft and smooth texture with a rich and delicate butterscotch flavor. Pair these dates with roasted almonds, dark chocolate, prosciutto, soft cheeses, tahini, cashew cream and marzipan to accentuate its sweetness.
