Apples (Modì®)

This fruit is a natural cross between Gala and Liberty varieties, featuring a beautiful signature red hue, and a crunchy, sweet-tart flavor profile. Although these are harvested in California, Modì were originally developed in Italy and named after the famous painter Modigliani, known for bright red colors in his paintings.

Use fresh on grazing boards or in salads —they are also perfect for baking! Which apples are best for baking, you ask? The basic rule is simple: the firmer the apple, the better the bake. Firm apples hold their shape in the oven and don’t turn to mush. So, if you aim to make an apple crisp—not apple sauce—go for Modì® apples.
