Dried Tepin Peppers are a small, searingly hot pepper. Registering an intense 8 out of 10 on the Scoville heat scale, this red chile pepper has a dry, musty flavor that produces a quick burn. It is the wild version of the Pequin Pepper.
Dried Peppers (Pequin)
Round or oval in shape, each Dried Tepin Pepper measures approximately 1/2" across. Thin flesh makes it perfect for pickling, it is easily crushed and sprinkled on beans, salsas and other Mexican dishes. Dried Tepins can also add a red hot note to soups, sauces and vinegars.
