skinned pineapple stands taller and skinnier than average pines, weighing around 3.3 pounds each. The soft, fiber-free, white flesh is low-acid, plus the core is edible, making it a remarkably low-waste fruit.

    “Murasaki” means purple in Japanese, which refers to this variety’s purple-red skin. Beneath the skin is white flesh that turns golden-yellow when cooked.
