Peppers (Shishito)

Shishito Peppers are slender Japanese peppers about 2-4 inches long and about 1/2 inch wide. The end opposite to the stem is squarish while the flesh walls are thin.

    These peppers are harvested before they ripen to red, ranging from mild to hot. About 1 in every 10 is hot, be sure to poke a hole in them prior to cooking so they don't burst from the heat.  Roast in the oven or a sauté pan for a few minutes, then toss with Asian condiments and quickly serve.
