Looking somewhat like an apple and a pear and tasting like both, Quince is rarely used in its raw form.

    A favorite for baking and preserving because of its sweet-sour flavor and high levels of pectin, it is also used to make jams and jellies. The hard and dry flesh of the Quince turns light pink to purple, becoming softer and sweeter once cooked.
