Hot House Rhubarb is grown in greenhouses and has typically smaller, less stringy and less coarse stalks than Field Rhubarb. It is also milder and sweeter.

    The leaves must be removed before cooking as they are toxic. Hot House Rhubarb is also called Strawberry Rhubarb because of its pink stalks and yellow leaves. It is naturally very tart, and is generally combined with a considerable amount of sugar and is best known for its combination with strawberries to make pie and other desserts.
