Rutabagas are a cross between savoy cabbage and a turnip. They have a very subtle earthy flavor.
This root vegetable can be enjoyed raw or cooked. Most often the Rutabaga is incorporated into stews and soups, but may also be mixed with mashed potatoes and carrots. Substitute Rutabagas in almost any turnip recipe. Turn up the savory and zesty volume of salads and slaws with the nutty flavor.
