Gold Tamarillos have a much sweeter taste than their red counterparts. Because of this, they are more frequently used as a fruit. The surprising apricot colored flesh and soft succulent pulp is remarkably juicy.
Slice Gold Tamarillos into pieces to add to fruit salads and other desserts. The skin is tough and the outer layer of the flesh is slightly firm. It has an unusual texture similar to that of a plum and is slightly tart but very flavorful. They are best when combined wih sugar to reduce their natural tartness.
